In Chennai, the electric vehicle startup, Raptee Energy, has launched its first electric motorcycle from its manufacturing unit.
Raptee, which was founded by four engineers in 2019, introduced itself as an electric alternative for the mid-premium motorcycle market. Its motorcycle features high-voltage powertrain technology, commonly seen in the car industry.

Charging Infrastructure
Raptee claims that these motorcycles are compatible with CCS2 charging points, allowing them to be charged at the same charging points used for electric cars.
Manufacturing and Testing
The production of the first vehicle has been completed at Raptee’s plant, and it is fully operational. Dinesh Arjun, co-founder and CEO of Raptee, mentioned that their plant has a capacity of nearly one lakh units.
Distribution Network
Raptee will kickstart its distribution network from Chennai and will present a hybrid approach with both online and offline channels.
R&D and Battery Packs
In 2023, Raptee established its R&D center in Chennai alongside its manufacturing unit. The company has also developed its own battery packs and has a dedicated assembly line for them.
Financial Communications
Raptee has secured a total investment of $5 million from venture capital firms and high-net-worth individuals so far.
