FAVOURITE CITIES IN INDIA
Five years in a row is quite a feat. While you like the palaces and lakes of Udaipur, the food and monuments of Delhi and Jaipur and the parks of Bengaluru, nothing can dim your love for Mumbai. The nightlife, the safety, the glamour—what’s not to love?
Mumbai 93.65
Goa 90.21
New Delhi 91.71
Jaipur 90.44
Udaipur 88.89
One of my favorite place in Rajasthan. There’s a reason Kings took to this place, “India’s Venice”, and it’s not just the spicy food! The people here may not all be rich, but they sure look it. Jewelry is layered on heavily, eyeliner is drawn on even the youngest of babies and men have huge colorful turbans on with big gold rings adorning their fingers. The lake palace floats out in the distance so you can look at the lights from a rooftop table. There is so much to do: get a massage, volunteer with animals, learn Reiki, learn traditional dance, and ride elephants to the gates of a palace. Take in the culture here, as it’s a pilgrimage spot for Hindus and ceremonies take place at the Ghats every day.
Bengaluru 88.49
FAVOURITE EMERGING DESTINATIONS IN INDIA
It’s always hard to pick your next destination. Should you trek the mountains of Sikkim or Ladakh, go diving in the Andamans or head to Gujarat for a date with an Asiatic lion? But it’s the unspoilt hills, caves and magical living root bridges of Meghalaya (not to mention its fantastic music scene) that have captured your imagination.
Meghalaya 93.23
Gujarat 91.85
Andaman & Nicobar Islands 89.81
Leh–Ladakh 88.64
Sikkim 87.82
FAVOURITE LEISURE DESTINATIONS IN INDIA
Rajabai clock tower, Mumbai. From top right: fishermen on a beach in Goa; Cherrapunjee, Meghalaya
Sun, sand and sea with a healthy dose of old-world Portuguese charm and quiet, palmfringed villages—that’s your idea of leisure, and that’s why you love Goa. And if you need a break from a break, head to a tea plantation or a lake palace instead. #lifegoals one of my favourite cities.
Goa 94.35
Udaipur 93.48
This town is not just my favorite in Rajasthan, but maybe my favorite in all of India. There’s a reason Kings took to this place, “India’s Venice”, and it’s not just the spicy food!
